Chile, b. unknown

Yaikel grew up in a city in Chile. The primal power of Mother Nature, urbanity, deserts, folk culture, ancient civilizations, and legends are the main materials that provide him with artistic inspiration. He says “I draw inspiration from elements in nature and the landscape that captivate my attention, as well as iconic objects and places from our culture. The idea is to contemplate how we relate to one another and to our environment.” He explores materials that span from muralism and painting to screen printing and ceramics to seek to develop a unique language through which I can communicate visually with the viewer.
