Bamboo series means patience. Despite the efforts of the farmers, Moso bamboo grows only three centimeters over four years and begins to grow 30 centimeters a day on its fifth year, growing more than 15 meters in just six weeks in that way. Moso bamboo seemed to have not grown for four years, but it was actually taking its strong roots deep in the ground. Don’t be disappointed that you can’t see the result right now, but look back on us like a bamboo waiting for the right time to grow big.

Dohyun Kim has visually expressed internal rest, recovery, and stability on the canvas. He fills the canvas with irregular patterns of cardboard shaped in flat waves and colors it with stable hues reminiscent of nature, abstractly visualizing the human inner realm. Within the screen constructed of repeated lines and gaps, and within the rhythm of layered and filled colors, he builds the order of spontaneously emerging forms, colors, and spaces.
