Doyo illustrates the romantic moments found by imagination in the busy lifestyles of contemporary individuals. “In Mild January” is one of the series that began in 2019 “Near by Odness;”, and it is a result of observation and reinterpretation of reality based on his catchphrase “OPEN YOUR ODDNESS”. As suggested by the title, the work juxtaposes the frigid January landscape with images of flowers, butterflies, and space to depict a new universe in which all seasons coexist. Instead of utilizing abstract objects, the artist discovers romance in mediocrity by combining photos or images that are easily seen in the surrounding environment. In doing so, he presents the audience with the romance and dreams that have been forgotten through his works.
