The girl hides behind the flowers, but also looking at the viewer directly, even offering a flower bud, not yet in bloom, but inside of this bud is a secret world, yet to be found. She chooses to hold the bud, not the blooming flower, showing it to the viewer. It is a delicate play of the found and what’s hiding, the bud vs the blooming flower, the girl behind, hiding- but her hands reach out.

Born in Ukraine in 1993, Katia Lifshin lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel. She studied art at Pima College in Tucson, Arizona, before continuing her practice independently, gradually shaping a distinctive visual language.
